Everything Happens For A Reason

All things work together for good to those who love HIM (Jesus). This is really true in my life. When I got married, there were a lot of trials that we faced but God helped us overcome those trials. If we just trust on HIM, everything will really turn out right. We may not know instantly the purpose for those things to happen but God will reveal to us in His time. Last month, we faced another trial. We were harassed by people who are claiming that they own the other house (the other unit at the back of our house where my sister in law land my husband’s relatives live). My husband’s cousin also was claiming that he owns the house. The truth is that, it was his cousin’s account in Pag-ibig that they used (of course with consent). He knows that he didn’t even spend a single centavo for that house. We already gave up the other unit to the one’s harassing us to avoid trouble but the situation became worse since my husband’s relatives living on the other unit won’t leave the house. His cousin even threatened that he’s going to kill us. It stressed a lot. The situation becomes worse since there are two parties claiming the house. Everyday (As early as 5 am), the other party claiming the house comes and talk to my husband. One day when my husband was not around, they came back and I was the one who talked to them. I don’t like the way he talks because he sound like threatening us if we won’t give the house. I was crying out of fear. I was so worried. When my husband came, he was so worried since I am on the third trimester of my pregnancy. So we decided to give up the house and hand it over to the other party since his cousin already is living on the other house. We looked for a house to be rented. Thanks God for his provisions. We were able to find a house to rent.
Just yesterday, the city was flooded including some parts of Misamis Oriental because of the typhoon Sendong.  Vamenta Subdivision was also affected. It was where we used to live. A friend told us that the place was also flooded and that the people living there stayed on their roof just to save themselves. God really spared us from the flood. Now I know that God allowed those trials to happen to spare us from the flood. He really reveals everything in the right time, in His time.

IT'S A BABY BOY!

I just had my ultrasound and it’s a baby boy. My husband was not around when I had my ultrasound because he was in Xavier University for his MA class. When he arrived at the clinic, he immediately asked for the baby’s gender. I smiled at him and then he asked, “is it a baby boy?” Then I nod and smile. He was so happy.  I know it was one of the happiest moments in his life.

Goodbye 20s, Hello 30s

I am thankful to God for giving me another year. It was just a simple celebration with my husband, my mother, cousin and few friends. My father was not able to come since no one is going to take care of his pigs. My sister was also not around since she was busy with her work. We had a simple dinner at home. I myself cooked. We had grilled fish, sweet and sour crabs, spaghetti, shanghai rolls, and salad. They all liked the food I prepared. I am thankful to my husband for allotting a budget to be spent for my special day.

Goodbye AMA, Hello MUST

Today is my last day of duty here in AMA. I've been here for 4 years. A lot of things happened here in AMA. One of the best things that happened in my life during my stay here is that I met my husband here. He used to teach here before he transferred in CU. I've been thankful to God for having given me the opprotunity to be a part of the AMA family. Now that my contract ends today, I am not worried at all. Why? Because God provided me another job. I will be reporting for duty on Monday at Mindanao University of Science and Technology as an office staff at the Procurement Unit. I really thank God that even if I'll be saying goodbye to my teaching life (for the mean time), He has provided me another job.

first wedding anniversay

It’s our first wedding anniversary. I am so thankful to God for always being there for us. My husband had to work during this day. He was busy the whole. He never failed to greet me a happy anniversary early in the morning. I was a little upset because he still goes to work even it is Saturday and it is our special day. He spent the whole day at school. He told me that we will just be having a dinner date after his work. It was already past 5 o’clock in the afternoon and still he’s not yet home. No text message or call from him. I became mad. I even cried. I was hurt. I texted him that I was upset and hurt. He explained to me that he did not forget. It’s just that he was obliged to report to duty and he had lots of responsibilities in school. He told me that he will wait for me at Mandarin Restaurant in Velez St. He told me to bring clothes since we’re not going home. We had our dinner and he gave me a bouquet of red roses. We spent our night at Harbor Lights Hotel, the place where we got married. I was happy again. I knew he really loves me and I was just impatient. :)

Must Love Dogs

A dos is a man's bestfriend. Well, I think it depends upon the type of dog (well, it's just my opinion). We have 8 dogs at home. My husband owns most of them when we were not yet married. He's very fond of dogs, but mostly the toy type. We have shih tzus, poodles, and terriers. We really love taking care of these. I find them really cute. I usually play with them when I have nothing to do. I still want to have another type of puppy, the micro mini pinscher. I hope I can have one, soon.

baby's heartbeat

I wanted to have an ultrasound but the doctor advised me to have one when my tummy is already big. I still have fears that same worse thing might happen again. Every time I have a check up, my OB measures my tummy and I feel happy knowing that it increases in size. But when she tries to listen to the heartbeat through s Doppler, we couldn’t hear any. I began to worry but she told me not to since it is still early and we have to wait for few weeks. July 15 came, schedule for me to have a check up. The doctor tried to locate the baby’s heartbeat and this time we heard it. I was so happy to hear my baby’s heartbeat knowing that the baby inside is alive. My husband even recorded the heartbeat. So thankful to God for this answered prayer.

Becoming a Mom

Becoming a mother is a wife's greatest desire. A woman feels complete when she bears a child in her womb. When I was still a kid, I always dreamed of getting married and have my own children at the right time. In 2008, God gave me the man He has prepared for me and in 2010 we got married. As a wife, the more I desired to become a mother. I could still remember the day when my monthly period was almost 2 weeks delayed. That was on the 16th of last month. I had a feeling of mixed emotions. I was so excited and at the same a little nervous since I already had a failed pregnancy before. But because I had a strong feeling that I was really pregnant, I bought a pregnancy kit and used it on the following day. I was doubtful with the result since the line was so vague. So I bought another PT kits and still it got the same result. To be satisfied, Me and my husband decided to see an OBGyne (Obstetrician Gynecologist). We were so happy when we finally heard from the doctor's mouth that I was pregnant. We were full of joy. I know that there are a lot of things that I am going through with this pregnancy but with God by our side, I am confident that everything will be alright.

IT'S POSITIVE!

Menstruation delayed.  I don’t want to expect but I really had the strong feeling that I am pregnant. To satisfy my curiosity, I bought a pregnancy test over the counter. My friends told me that it’s best to take PT early in the morning so I did. It was indicated in the box of the PT that the result will appear in less than 5 minutes. I dropped few urine on the sample well and waited. It displayed negative. I was dismayed. I threw the PT to the garbage bag. I went to my bed and tried to sleep but there is something in my mind that tells me to get the PT. So I got up and took the PT from the garbage bag. I checked it and saw a very faint line below the first line. My heart pumped faster. I was confuse if I am really pregnant or not. So I decided to research on the net if it is still considered positive even though the second line  is very faint. The answers are all YES. To satisfy my confusion, I decided to buy another PT, still the second line is faint but his time is more visible compared to the first one. But I really wanted to see a clearer line so again I bought another PT and this time the lines are clearer. I was still confused. So my husband and I decided to see a doctor. The OB Gyne handed me another PT.  No doubt, I am pregnant. My husband and I are so happy but I still have fears inside. I always pray to God that He will give to me this baby this time.

Hong Kong, 'Til We Meet Again

Travelling is one of my passions. I dreamed of travelling here and abroad.  These dreams are now coming into reality. My first international trip abroad is in Hong Kong, it was a gift from my husband. When you’re in Hong Kong, you should not miss to visit these places: Madame Tussauds  and be amazed of the wax figures; Victoria Peak (The Peak) where you can see the Hong Kong skyline; Ocean Park where you can have breath-taking extreme rides  and see the mixes of educational animal shows (the park is really good for all ages); the Avenue of Stars which is modeled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame; the Kong Park which is an outstanding example of modern design and facilities blending with natural landscape; have a magical moment at HK Disneyland; visit  Shek – O Beach which is a good access to the city’s best surfing on the big waves; and of course, go shopping at Hong Kong market where you can see the populace’s exuberance and passion for bagging and bargain. If you’re a Filipino traveler, you must visit the World Wide House where most of the people are Filipino’s. There, you can buy Filipino food and stuffs that you need. You can also buy access tickets for Ocean Park and Disneyland for a lower price. If you’re not in a hurry and you want to explore the place for less, you can take the tram. It can take you anywhere for just HKD2. You could also take the bus and the MTR if you are in a hurry, but of course, with a more expensive fare. We really had a nice week in Hong Kong and I am still hoping that we can go back to this wonderful place, this time with kids.

HK Grand Vacation

It was my first time to travel abroad. It was a dream came true. Last January when I visited my husband in their office, I had nothing to do so I browsed the net. I tried to check cebu pacific’s website if there are promos. They had a promo for HK for only Php 888 back and forth. My husband decided to purchase a ticket for us. He then contacted his nephew and cousin who lives in HK if they can accommodate us. We didn’t spent that much since the ticket was on sale, the accommodation and food is free courtesy of my husband’s relatives. His niece even paid the entrance fee and fare at the Madame Tausudds. When we arrived at the HK international airport, his niece fetched us. We stayed at their flat in Quarry Bay. The next day, we went to Shek O beach and stayed in my husband’s cousin. We stayed there for two nights then we went back to Quarry Bay. We were able to visit Ocean Park. I was amazed with the extreme rides. I took some of those rides which were so exhilarating. My favorite was the abyss (the super drop down) 200 meters high. We also went to Disneyland. There, I felt like a kid again. We were able to witness their parade, went to see their 4D cinema, and many others. At night, we witnessed the castle illumination and fireworks which lasted for 30 minutes or more (I think).  I wished to visit this place again in the future together with our kids. I thank God for this opportunity and for my husband for this wonderful vacation.

I just love to sew

I love sewing ever since I was a kid. I began sewing as early as 5 years old. I would love to cut used clothing and sew a dress for my doll. I still don't know how to use a sewing machine so I prefer to make doll dress hand sewn. I first used a sewing machine when I was 10 years old. I was hesitant at first but my mother was there looking after me, teaching me how to sew properly. She told me I got this talent/skill (of sewing) from my grandmother. She was a good dress maker. Even my mother and her siblings know how to sew. I think it runs from the family. The first thing I sew in the sewing machine was an apron which was a project in school. From then on I always sew anything that I could. I am looking forward of sewing my own dress, soon.

Weekend in Manila

I was still in college the last time I was in Manila. That was a decade ago. My husband and I went to Manila just to have a break. After that painful experience of losing a precious gift inside my womb, we decided to have a break. Actually, my husband bought this airline ticket last year when we’re not yet married. He got this on sale. Imagine paying an air fare for two from CDO to Manila and back for less than  three hundred pesos. That was the P1 sale from cebu pacific. We spent 4 days and three nights in my aunt’s house in Quezon City. We went to MOA, Ocean Park, Star City, Divisoria, and Cartemar. My husband was amazed to see the very affordable prices of clothes, bags, shoes and a lot of things in Divisoria. We bought pasalubong  for our loved ones in a very affordable price. When we were in Cartemar, we were so amazed to see an establishment somewhat like a mall but the shops in there are all pet shops, of course, selling pets and pet accessories and stuffs in very reasonable price. We bought a collapsible dog cage for as low as 400 pesos. The same type of cage is being sold here in CDO but the price is tripled. We are planning to go back to Cartemar soon to buy some things for our pets. We really had a nice weekend in Manila. But the funny thing is that, we missed our flight. We’re supposed to take the first flight but it’s already late when we woke up. We need to buy another ticket. This time, the regular fare which is quite expensive.  Lesson learned, set the volume of the alarm clock to the highest level.

We will be celebrating our valentine's later with a dinner date. I still don't know where we are going but definitely, it is somewhere so special for us.

My Husband's 33rd Birthday

It's my husband 33rd birthday. We celebrated his birthday at his cousin's house. It was just a simple celebration together with family and closed friends. His friends bought a cake for him. They were really thoughtful. We thanks God for giving him friends who are always there for him. I thank God for the life of my husband, for adding another year to his life.

Mambukal Escapade

If you're in Bacolod City or its neighboring places having a vacation, you should visit Mambukal Mountain Resort as well. It is situated in the town of Murcia, Negros Occidental which lies 1,200 feet above sea level and serves as gateway to Mt. Kanlaon. The place is very ideal for family outings specially for those who are nature lovers. You can go boating in the lagoon, go butterfly watching and bat watching, and swim in the swimming pool and dipping pool. The dipping pool is a hot spring pool so it is not recommended for pregnant women and for small kids.It is even hotter than the Ardent Hot Spring in Camiguin Island. If you love trekking, you could also go trekking up to the 7th falls. We only reached up to the 4th falls since we do not have enough time and we were not wearing the right footwears for trekking. I really love the place. We went home tired but it's all worth it. I still want to go back to this place and by that time, I will make it sure that I'll reach the 7th falls.
